Proper Spacing
Proper spacing between Lines # All academic papers regardless of whether they are in MLA or any one of the other above formats have to have double spacing. There are two reasons for this. Firstly double spacing makes a paper easier to read and understand. Not only does double spacing make your academic paper more reader friendly, it also gives space for your professors to jot down their comments and suggestions.
Proper Spacing Between Words: A single space is required after every word or after punctuation marks like commas, colons or semi-colons. You should leave two spaces between sentences. The more modern trend is to leave a single space. You can also note that there should not be any space before the punctuation mark.
Proper Margins
Always justify the text so that you have uniform 1’ margins on all sides unless your professor tells you differently. Indent set-off quotations 10 spaces or 1" from the left margin.
Quotations should be indented 1" from the left margin. So there in a nutshell is an MLA essay format example for MLA papers
